This week I was struggling with feeling completely overwhelmed and exhausted. I was stressed and wasn't sleeping well. Between business and my personal life I had a few weeks of non stop events. I was never home and I was always surrounded by people. I just wanted to shut down and hide from everything and everyone but didn't have the time or the space to do that-or at least I thought. Until Tuesday came along. I knew if I did not schedule some me time I was going to fall apart at something. Lose patience, make mistakes, something. So I booked Wednesday afternoon off. The moment I booked the time it was like a weight lifted off my shoulders. I had something to look forward to. I realized that scheduling me time on a consistent basis is crucial to my mental health, to my creativity and to my overall success in business. I now have one day every two weeks booked off just for me. Putting yourself first and giving yourself the time to reset and recharge isn't selfish-it is necessary.
